Why we Sing.... |
|
|
It is through many requests from our
friends and family members to even
consider this venture. Its by the
grace of God and our faith in Him
that has led us through life. Due to
our parents and grandparents Roy &
Vera Parker who took us to church
since we were born.
We learned at early age about the
Lord. With Mom and Dad both being
from a musical background, it was
only natural that we received some
of their traits. We were raised
around southern gospel music all our
lives.
Both Mildred and myself (Diane) sang
with another group several years
ago. When the group disbanded we
found ourselves getting back to our
church more and singing with church
choir As always on the first Sunday
of each month we would all gather in
at the home place where Mom would
have a big meal prepared for us and
anyone else that would happen by.
After we had all shared in that
wonderful meal with Mom and Dad we
would still find ourselves sitting
around the table or the piano, where
we would sing the good old songs
about the Lord and what he had done
for us in our lives.
Years have passed now, several
members of our family and loved ones
have gone on, but we all know it's
only a short time until we will all
be reunited again.
In the group of Angel Spirit you
will hear the voices of Mildred,
Selina, and Diane and sometimes on a
special song you will get to hear
Stacy also.
It was in of August 2008 that we
girls finally agreed to sing a few
songs on a television show hosted by
Cherie Martin called Heart Of The
Home. We were filming in the
beautiful home of Charles and
Charlene Higgins just south of
Jasper. Several were in attendance,
standing in the background. Charlene
has a wonderful collection of
Angels. As we sang , the spirit of
the Lord was certainly among us. So
with the collection of angels and
the spirit of the Lord, henceforth
came the name Angel Spirit that
Cherie and Charlene gave us.

Donavan, Sondra, and Keith Jones,
Debbie Dobbs, and most of all our
families and The Lord.
We hope you get a blessing from the
songs we sing. We aren't
professionals by any means, but we
for sure are sinners saved by grace
singing through faith, and may we
ever be mindful to give our thanks
to God for the voices to sing with.
So we present this project to you in
remembrance of our parents Roy and
Vera Parker, our sister Faye, and
our brother James, who have all gone
ahead of us, just waiting to reap
their Heavenly Rewards.
